Last week I visited the beautiful, seaside city of Santa Barbara, California. It was my first time vacationing here so I was eager to explore and soak in the vibe. We took a drive along the coast and headed towards downtown…specifically State Street. State Street is filled with great specialty shops, restaurants, art galleries, gorgeous boutiques and of course many of my favorite national brand stores like…Urban, Brandy Melville and Sephora. Yes…I can spend all my days here. I’m in my element.
We rented bicycles one afternoon and cruised along Cabrilllo Boulevard towards Leadbetter Beach. A break was needed and the Shoreline Beach Cafe was the perfect spot. With my toes in the sand, I enjoyed some of the best guacamole I’ve had in a long time. A leisurely bike ride sure does work up an appetite!
They say one must get out on the water when in Santa Barbara. Honestly, I’m a bit terrified of getting “in” the water…I’ve heard one too many shark tales. We decided to take a Sunset Cruise on June 21st…which happened to be Summer Solstice. It also happened to be one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in a long time.
We ended the week with an afternoon at the Spa at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara. I had an amazing massage and steamed my worries away. This hotel is beautiful and the service is excellent. It’s located right across the street from Butterfly Beach…which makes for a great place for one last stroll before heading home.
